While on the ship, Katie was witness to the murder of dozens of people on a dance floor--being the only one spared because of her size. On a ship out at sea and with no hope to escape, Katie was dragged into her room and hung. Her spirit became trapped on the Antonia Graza, along with all of her other shipmates and numerous souls that Jack collected along the way. Since she'd died a complete innocent, Katie was untouchable by Jack, and still had all her free will. When Maureen Epps and her crew came on board the Antonia to salvage it, Katie worked doubly hard to try and warn the woman about what was going on in the ship, but was only able to save the one woman. Still, with Maureen's help, the Antonia Graza was destroyed, sinking, and freeing all the souls on board. Instead of moving into the hereafter, Katie's soul was, for lack of a better term, hidden into the body of another young woman. Katie has gone on, oblivious to the soul she is housing, and who has every possibility of awakening given the right trigger...
